While only 42% of people do not meet the daily intake of zinc, there are several common scenarios that can decrease absorption of an already low intake- blood pressure and diuretic medications, heavy alcohol use, pregnancy, and a vegan diet.
Over 90% of people do not get enough choline which is the part of the substance that every cell membrane it made out it. Since we cannot make it ourselves, we must get it through the diet. People who get enough have lower anxiety and increased learning. New studies show that it may be critical to preventing dementia.
